Here some photos of my Acer Palmatum, which I seeded in 1999 or 2000... A proces of a long time get it to the direction of a bonsai, but slowly i'm getting him in the good direction.
First photo is made in 2006:
Unfortunately I didn't make much photo's that time. The first 15 years I was mainly focussed to develop a very good nebari. Which I tried to get by pruning the strongest roots every year in early spring.
to encourage better grow it was planted in a wooden crate.
This was the tree in 2014:
The tree had also big wounds that had to heal in a longer period of time.
Year 2017:

In january I did the winterpuning. Last years growth was a good one:
The tree is about 38 cm in hight. My goal is a kind of Hokidachi style tree, but asymmetrical: shaped by the wind from the left. I my opinion It has a solid base know, and I try go get it much better....
last month I repotted the tree in his definitive pot: it almost didn't fit in depth, because of his wide nebari..
I'm very satisfied about the composition, which will be even better in spring, when the buds are exploded!
At the end, also this Acer with fresh leaves, I think a great combination with his pot, made by Mariusz Folda
